List of museums
Soumaya. This is a museum founded in 1994 and it has three enclosures Plaza Carso, Plaza Loreto and Casa Guillermo Tovar de Teresa.
Plaza Carso. It has a spectacular architecture. You’ll be able to behold it’s impressive structure from any angle, making it perfect to take selfies, panoramic photographs or whichever you prefer. Inside, you’ll get to see colonial art, impressionism and sculptures by Rodin, Salvador Dalí and a beautiful decorative design.

Schedule: Monday to Sunday from 10:30h to 18:30 h.
Plaza Loreto. This museum has permanent exhibitions in rooms three and four such as the “Calendario Mexicanos”. For which it displays different themes like “Grandeza Mexicana, Fiesta familia, Patria, Folclor nacional and Fiesta Brava” and more.
Address: Revolución Av. and Río Magdalena -Eje 10 sur- Tizapán San Ángel.
Schedule: Wednesday to Monday from 10:30h to 18:30h and Saturday from 10:30h to 20:00h.
Casa Guillermo Tovar de Teresa. This museum displays a collection by the historian Guillermo Tovar y de Teresa. This museum will take you on a historic journey into Mexico’s past, present and future.
Address: Valladolid 52, Roma Norte.
Schedule: Monday to Sunday from 10:30h to 18:30h.
2. Museo del Estanquillo. This museum has a wonderful Mexican collection of 20, 000 pieces gathered by Carlos Monsiváis. Inside the museum there are photographs, toys, plastic, manifestos, posters, historical documents, music sheets, films and more. All the valuable things inside this museum represents the history of Mexico, taking into account its society, politics, economy and daily life.

Schedule: Wednesday to Monday from 10:00h to 18 h.
3. Museo Nacional de la Acuarela. This museum offers a historic journey of watercoloring in Mexico and around the world. Also, you can enjoy different activities such as: workshops on weekends, classes, specialized workshops, courses and activities for everyone. This museum has a variety of fascinating activities. Don´t miss this unique experience!

4. Museo de los Ferrocarriles. In this museum you get to learn about the railway workers, their strikes and struggles through books, documents, maps and films. You’ll also get to know about the most reknown heroes of the time. The museum also offers conferences, concerts, plays, workshops, dance performances and guided visits.
Address: You can access through Cuauhtémoc Street, Aquiles Serdán, Aragón La Villa.
Schedule: Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00h to17:00 h.
5. Museo Archivo de la Fotografía. This museum has three rooms for exhibitions and one for multiple purposes. In the museum, you get to see more than 2 million images that represents the development and changes in Mexico through almost a century. Talking about activities, you can enjoy exhibitions, workshops, conferences, films, concerts and other activities.
Address: República de Guatemala 34, Centro Histórico.

6. Museo Nacional de las Culturas del Mundo. In this museum you get to see, from past to present, a representation of the cultures around the world. This museum is located in a Colonial building where coins were made. In this museum you can enjoy different activities, such as: films, digitalize cultures, courses, workshops, dances, exhibitions, literature, music, plays, and other activities that represents different countries of the world.

7. Museo de la Medicina Mexicana. This museum portrays the history of the Mexican medicine. Also, it has permanent exhibitions with interactive pieces through didacticism, guided visits, workshops for kids, courses, concerts and cultural events. You don’t need to be an expert in medicine since in this fascinating world, you never stop learning.

8.Castillo de Chapultepec. This museum is an architectural monument with the most history in Mexico. This museum has a wide collection of paintings, photographs, documents and objects that represents the colonization period to the present time.

9.Museo de Antropologia. This museum is the biggest one in the whole country, it is also an enclosure for archeological and anthropological samples from different cultural groups with hundreds of years of history. Additionally, it has the most representative pieces of the indigenous people of Mexico.

10. Frida Kahlo. This place is best known as “la Casa Azul”. It is a place where the personal belongings reveals the intimate universe of the world reknown latinamerican artist. Moreover, in this house you can find a few of the most important paintings by Frida Kahlo.

There is something worth mentioning. Don’t skip the Museum nights!
The last Wednesday of every month, some museums of the city reopens (for about an hour or two after their normal closing time). Also, these museums have special events, for example, small concerts, guided tours, films and more.
